Five persons were washed away in flooded nullahs in rural Thane, while one fisherman drowned in the high sea, the police said.
At Satpati village in Palghar taluka, four empty boats were carried away by gusty winds into the high sea on June 26. To retrieve them, three fishermen went in and two of them swam back to safety. The third could not make it and his body was found on Friday, Vijay Bandarkar of the Maharashtra Machimar Kruti Samiti said.
Eleven people were still reported missing from various parts of the district, the police added.
Naval personnel were likely to join search operations in Bhiwandi, sources said.
Meanwhile, the Thane collector announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 50,000 for the families of victims.
