Crime branch takes over Natasha Singh's case

Six days after Natasha Singh, the estranged daughter-in-law of senior Congress leader Natwar Singh, was found dead in a five-star hotel in New Delhi, the government on Friday transferred the case to the crime branch.

The death of the 31-year-old freelance photographer has been shrouded in mystery ever since her body was found on the terrace of Hyatt Hotel in South Delhi on Sunday morning.

While a murder case has been registered, the cops have not ruled out the possibility of it being a suicide.

Post-mortem, conducted twice on the body, concluded that Natasha had died due to a fall.

Natasha's husband Jagat Singh has been questioned thrice.

Police have also recorded statements of family members and other relatives and friends of Natasha, particularly those whom she had purportedly sent SMS messages prior to her death.
