The BMTF is keeping a close watch on the situation in Assam. It has now requested the All India Goods Transport Association in Delhi to direct truckers from different states to stop sending vehicles to Assam till the situation there returned to normal, BMTF president Uday Shankar Prasad Singh told PTI in Patna. Similar letters have also been sent to the transport federations of West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and others states.

At an emergency meeting in Patna on Tuesday, it was decided that if transporters from other states did not heed its request, the BMTF would stall the movement of trucks to Assam through Bihar from next week onwards.
