Track failure led to Dehra Dun-Delhi Janshatabdi derailment

Track failure led to the derailment of the 2056 DN Dehra Dun-New Delhi Janshatabdi Express between Saharanpur and Meerut City on September six in which one person was killed and four were injured.

This was revealed in the preliminary report of a statutory inquiry by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (Northern Circle) G P Garg, an official release said in Delhi on Thursday.

The report has been forwarded to the government for consideration, it added.
