Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday, after a 'landmark' three-day visit to Moscow, during which Russia extended all help to India in meeting its energy needs, including civilian nuclear power.

"India-Russia relations are such that although this visit is a landmark one, it is only one in a long journey that the two countries will make together and which shall be of value and benefit to both," Dr Singh told reporters on his way back from Moscow.

Dr Singh and Russian President Vladimir Putin held summit talks in which the two countries decided to move towards joint development of multi-purpose transport planes and fifth generation fighters.

The two countries signed three agreements, including on intellectual property rights for joint defence work and on cooperation in the field of solar physics.

The two leaders also discussed regional and international issues like United Nations reforms, Iran nuclear problem and global terrorism on which they had converging views.
