General Pervez MusharrafGovernment sources on Friday said Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's offer to travel to India to watch an Indo-Pak cricket match will be responded to positively.

The first Indo-Pak Test starts in Mohali on March 8.

Ministry of External Affairs sources said this is not the first time Pakistan has sought to use cricket diplomacy to improve ties between the two countries.

Former Pakistan president General Zia ul Haq had visited India in the late eighties to watch an Indo-Pak cricket match.

Musharraf, speaking to a newspaper in Islamabad, had expressed his desire to watch cricket India.

"I love watching any sport. I would love watching cricket. [But] I don't believe in going without an invitation anywhere. If there is an invitation, one would certainly like to consider," he told The Pakistan Observer.
