Even though Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav described him as "younger brother", Nitish Kumar on Thursday announced he would move to the official house notified for the chief minister.

"I will move into the house which has already been notified for CM," was Kumar's cryptic reply to reporters' queries about whether he would now occupy the sprawling 1, Anne Marg bungalow which has been home to the Lalu-Rabri duo for 15 long years.

Kumar, however, said he did not know whether 1, Anne Marg bunglow was notified as official residence of the chief minister and that the officials alone would be able to tell.

State Chief Secretary G S Kang, who was also present at the maiden press conference of Kumar after he formally assumed office, said he would go through the files and only then confirm what was the factual position.

A top official pleading anonymity told PTI that 1 Anne Marg house was notified as the chief minister's official residence.

On whether his government would order probe into alleged ommissions and commissions of the previous RJD regime, Kumar said "Ap batayen main turat karwai karunga (You tell me I will swiftly act on it)."

The chief minister, however, said his government would maintain "total transparency" and order probe if corruption related matters came to its notice.
