The Union home ministry suspects a Kashmir connection behind the serial bomb blasts in New Delhi on Saturday.

Sources told rediff.com, "Although it is too early to say anything, intelligence officials will look into the Lashkar-e-Taiba and Kashmir connection into these terrorist acts."

Home Secretary V K Duggal has called an emergency meeting of top officials and intelligence officers on Thursday night.

The blasts also coincide with the resignation of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, the home ministry had alerted the government that some People's Democratic Party activists in Anantnag, Phulwama and a few others areas in the Kashmir Valley had close links with the Jammat-e-Islami and separatist militant groups like the Hizbul Mujahideen and the LeT. Mufti's exit has not gone down well these sections of the party.
