Gawli released

Gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli was finally released from Thane jail and returned to his residence at Dagdi chawl amidst tight security.

Gawli was arrested in connection with the attack on a journalist Anindita Ramaswamy recently. Metropolitan Magistrate Geeta Agarwal granted him bail and later it to enable the prosecution to move the high court.

Justice Venkat Achala Murthy of Bombay High Court however vacated the stay after hearing both prosecution and defence and ordered Gawli be released on bail on July 30.

Gawli had recently taken on the ruling Shiv Sena, after he launched his Akhil Bharatiya Sena. Gawli, could not be released on Friday due to security reasons.
