Final verdict on Gawli's bail plea on Saturday

Gangster Arun Gawli, who was arrested along with two of his accomplices on charges of assaulting a Bombay journalist, was on Thursday granted bail by Metropolitan Magistrate G Agarwal.

However, Gawli and his associates Raju Philip and Suresh Bhaskar will continue to be in judicial custody as the judge has stayed her own order till 1300 hours on Saturday. This has been done to enable the prosecution to move the Bombay high court.

The accused will be lodged at the Thane jail till Saturday, when the final orders will be served.
