Gawli granted bail
The Bombay high court on Wednesday ordered gangster and Akhil
Bharatiya Sena president Arun Gawli's release on bail.
Gawli was arrested July 22 for his alleged attack on a Bombay-based journalist.
Earlier, the high court stayed the bail granted by Metropolitan Magistrate Geeta Agarwal. The stay was vacated on Wednesday by Justice A S Venkatachala Moorthy.
In another development, Principal Sessions Court Judge A S Aguir granted
anticipatory bail to Gawli, following a complaint made by Dagdi Chawl resident Chandraprabha Gajre that the gangster forcibly evicted her from her tenement in 1990.
The judge, however, directed Gawli to report at the Agripada
police station between 1400 hours and 1700 hours everyday. The judge also ordered police protection to the gangster in this regard.
