28 killed in Loha road accidentTwentyeight people were killed and 25 others injured in a head-on collision between a tempo and a truck at Paradi Shivar, four kilometres from Loha, in Nanded district on Thursday night. Police said the tempo was overloaded and collided into a speeding truck. Fourteen passengers, including four women, died on the spot. The injured have been admitted at the Nanded civil hospital. The tempo carried passengers returning from the Manusya gaurav din celebration, organised by Swadhyaya Pariwar and addressed by Templeton award recipient Pandurang Shastri Athawale. The deceased were mostly residents of Risangaon, Loha. UNI |
