Maharashtra CM flays Centre for delaying gangsters's arrests
Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi on Friday accused the Centre of not co-operating with the state government in getting Indian gangsters arrested from foreign countries.
The chief minister said the Centre was taking no interest in this regard.
Referring to the recent encounter killings in Bombay, Joshi said it was not the
state government's policy to kill gangsters. They were killed only when they attacked the police.
So far, Joshi said, 69 gangsters had been killed in various encounters
with the police in Bombay.
