- Scorecard

West Indies [ Images ] made a formidable 336 for six on the first day of the second Test against Australia [ Images ] at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.

Dwayne Bravo [ Images ] scored a masterful 104, his third Test century and veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul [ Images ] made a characteristic 62 to help the Caribbean cause.

The duo's 116-run partnership for the fourth wicket steadied the visitors' ship after the hosts had them on the rocks at 84 for three, and subsequently 119 for three – after Brendon Nash had retired hurt.

The Australian-born Nash, however, returned later in the day and remained unbeaten on 44, along with an aggressive-looking Darren Sammy (also 44 not out), their unbroken seventh wicket stand thus far yielding 63 runs.

Doug Bollinger and Shane Watson [ Images ] were the pick of the bowlers for the home team with identical figures of two for 42.

Bollinger, playing in only his second Test and first in almost a year, picked up the vitals wickets of West Indies captain Chris Gayle [ Images ] (26) and opener Adrian Barath (3), who made a century at Brisbane [ Images ], in his first five overs.

Australia lead the series after their comprehensive win in the opening Test at the Gabba [ Images ].
