The Mumbai Cricket Association has decided to refund the ticket money paid by spectators to watch the seventh and final One-Day International between India and Australia, which was washed out without a bowl being bowled on Wednesday.
"We have decided to refund the ticket money though it was written on the back of the ticket that no refund will be given. The modalities of refunding the ticket money will be decided tomorrow [Friday] by the MCA managing committee," said MCA vice-president and former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar.
Australia had already taken an unassailable 4-2 lead going into the Mumbai match.
The match at the D Y Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai, which was set to stage its first ODI, was forced to be called off following incessant rain that lashed the city since Tuesday night.
