The second day's play in the three-day practice game between the visiting Sri Lankan team and the Board's President's XI was called off due to wet ground conditions.
The first day's play on Wednesday could not be held because of incessant rain in the wake of the deep depression over the Arabian sea.
With just one day left, play is scheduled to start at 0930 IST on Friday.
However, the limited-over rules will not be applied as the Sri Lankans do not want to get into the one-day mould before the start of the Test series at Ahmedabad on November 16, according to manager Brendon Kuruppu.
Sri Lanka are second behind South Africa in the official Test rankings and will be aiming to win a series on Indian soil for the first time.
The visitors failed to score a victory in any of the 14 matches they played in India since their first Test visit in 1982.
Sri Lanka will play three Tests, five One-dayers and two Twenty20 internationals on the current tour.
