BCCI releases Vijay, Ojha from Indian Test squad

Tamil Nadu opener Murali Vijay and Hyderabad all-rounder Pragyan Ojha were on Monday released from the Indian Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka and will return to their respective states for the Ranji Trophy matches from Tuesday.

"As per the policy of the Board, Murali Vijay and Pragyan Ojha have been released from the Indian Test squad, to assist their respective sides in the Ranji Trophy," BCCI Secretary N Srinivasan said in a statement.

"Vijay will play in Tamil Nadu's match against Punjab, which begins at Amritsar, and Ojha will figure in Hyderabad's encounter against Gujarat, which commences in Hyderabad," he said.

Vijay and Ojha were included in the 15-member squad for the first two Tests of the ongoing three-match series against Sri Lanka.
