Statistical highlights: India v Sri Lanka, 1st Test, Day 5

# In the course of his 43rd hundred in the Ahmedabad Test, Sachin Tendulkar has become the first player to complete 30,000 runs in international cricket.

# Tendulkar is the first one to make 1500 (1512) runs against Sri Lanka at an average of 58.15 in 20 Tests.

# For the second time, India have posted 400 in each innings of a Test match. In the 2004-05 Kolkata Test against Pakistan, India had made 407 and 407 for 9 wickets declared.

# It was the third time that Muttiah Muralitharan gone wicket-less, conceding 100 runs and more.

# Seven hundreds - 4 by India and 3 by Sri Lanka is a record tally in India or for that matter, in any Test, involving India.

# Gautam Gambhir's seventh Test century is his first against Sri Lanka - his fourth in India.

# Gambhir has achieved a unique feat - three hundreds in successive Tests. He became the sixth batsman to register three centuries or more in consecutive Tests.

# Sunil Gavaskar (4 between 1976-77 and 1977-78 & 3 during 1970-71) and Rahul Dravid (4 between 2002 and 2002-03) are the only ones to make four centuries in successive Tests.

# Gambhir's previous best against Sri Lanka was 74 at Galle last year.
