India's poor performances at the ICC Champions Trophy and Twenty20 World Cup had its repercussion on the support staff too, with bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad and fielding coach Robin Singh being relieved of their services.

"The BCCI has decided to discontinue the services of bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad and fielding coach Robin Singh with immediate effect," the Board of Control for Cricket in India said in a statement on Thursday.

India's bowling was the subject of constant criticism in the last few months, including the recently-concluded Champions Trophy, where the seamers failed to live up to expectations. Also, the fielding witnessed a dip in standard as quite a few catches were dropped during the tournament.

Since replacements haven't been named, coach Gary Kirsten and mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton will take over the additional responsibility during the seven-match ODI series against Australia, beginning in Baroda on October 25.

Former India pacer Prasad and batsman Singh were appointed around two years back, during the 2007 tour of Bangladesh.

While Prasad is the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, Singh was recently named coach of Mumbai Indians.
