An International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation, on an inspection tour, on Friday, advised Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to improve the player's arena of the historic Eden Gardens, a venue of the 2011 World Cup.

The ICC team, in their first stop over of the India leg, was though satisfied with the pitch and overall condition of the stadium.

"It is a historical ground, which has hosted the World Cup final (1987), semi-final (1996) in the past. It's wonderful to see the redevelopment work going on at full swing. We have exchanged few thoughts and this is just the beginning of an ongoing process," said ICC events manager Chris Tetley.

Elaborating on the suggestion, CAB joint secretary Biswarup Dey said, "They want the dressing room to be improved. There should be ample space for relaxation and a separate dining space that should be adjacent to the dressing room."

Terming it a fact-finding mission, the ICC experts said they were aiming for a spectator-friendly stadium and would continue with the process till the start of the premier event.

The team, which included former Australian off-spinner Tim May, currently the CEO of Federation of International Cricket Association said, "We are associated with ICC since the last World Cup in the West Indies in 2007. We have been looking after matters related to players."

The ICC would also send somebody to assess the security arrangement during the India-Sri Lanka One-dayer to be held on December 24.
