Team India continues to snub media

The Indian Team continued to snub the media for the fourth day on the trot after reaching South Africa for the ongoing Champions Trophy.

It was yet another practice session for Team India, who gathered at Old Edwardians, a sporting facility, but the Indian players continued to shy away from interacting with the media which had followed them from back home.

The venue of practice was so unfamiliar that even the local taxi drivers had trouble in locating it. While Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men were suitably shepherded to the venue, the Indian media contingent stumbled their way to the ground and then found to their utter dismay that nobody from the team was keen to talk to them.

Manager Anurag Thakur held the fort for a while, surrounded by at least a dozen men from media who wanted at least some point of view from the team. Thakur promised and then pulled out from the deal, leaving media fuming.

Put it down to anger on Kirsten's four-part document leakage or Yuvraj's unfortunate finger injury or the complete contempt, which Indian skipper Dhoni has for the media, the truth is the relationship between Team India and media is presently at its lowest ebb. It just wasn't restricted to lack of bytes or press conference even the cameramen were put to much inconvenience.

The practice area was cordoned off to such a distance that the best of cameras with their zooming ability couldn't catch better than a few fluttering figures in blue dress from afar.
