Younis wants to retire on a high

He might be serving an indefinite ban but Pakistan's former captain Younis Khan insists his career is not over and he wants to go out of international cricket on a high.

The senior batsman said he would retire when he is at his peak.

"Allah knows best and as long as Allah wants, I will play for Pakistan," Younis told Pakpassion.net.

The former captain also felt that Pakistan would come good in the forthcoming Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies.

"If you look at the squad that won the cup last year and the current squad, only a handful of players are missing. Most of the names are the same so we should have a good chance at defending the title," predicted Younis.

Younis also said late coach of the Pakistan team Bob Woolmer changed his cricket career.

"Bob said that the No 3 slot would be a make or break position for my career. I would either be relegated if I didn't seize the opportunity, or I would become a star through the sheer number of runs the position offers. I figured it might as well be worth a try," recalled Younis.
