Now Modi's guards in the dock after attacking journalists

Maharashtra [ Images ] government will file cases against the security guards of embattled IPL commissioner Lalit Modi [ Images ] for physically assaulting journalists, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan [ Images ] told the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

Raising the issue, Leader of Opposition Eknath Khadse said, "When Lalit Modi arrived in Mumbai [ Images ] yesterday (Tuesday), the media had gone to cover him. But, the security guards attacked the journalists. Attacks on media are becoming a routine affair and despite assurances that such incidents will be made non-bailable, the government is not taking any action."

Khadse also submitted a CD to Speaker Dilip Walse Patil as a proof.

Chief Minister Chavan said he had spoken to the Home Minister R R Patil [ Images ] about the issue. "He told me that the private security guards had assaulted the journalists and cases would be filed against them," Chavan said.
