A sparkling closing ceremony, splashed with glitz and glamour, preceded the Indian Premier League's summit clash between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai on Sunday.

A purely dance and music show, the ceremony saw the liked of AR Rehamn, Bipasha Basu and Shahid Kapoor perform in front of a jam-packed crowd.

Bipasha Basu shakes a leg at the closing ceremony

Bollywood diva Bipasha Basu danced to the title track of her movie Race and set the pulse racing for spectators, while Shahid Kapoor did his bit, shaking his legs to a song from his movie on the makeshift stage erected on the ground.

'Couldn't have asked for better'

Just before the match, Lalit Modi said he is satisfied with the way the tournament went.

"You could not have asked for better. What a tournament -- lots of excitement. Mumbai Indians won most of their matches but nobody knew which three teams would go to the semi-finals till the last game.

"Thank-you cricket fans of the country and abroad, you have made all these possible," he said.
