Munaf PatelFast bowler Munaf Patel is beingrushed to Sri Lanka to bolster the Indian squad inthe ongoing tri-series, also featuring New Zealand.

"Munaf Patel is joining the Indian team in Sri Lanka, as an additional member of the squad. He will reach Dambulla tomorrow [Friday]," a statement from theBoard of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday read.

India'sbowling has looked quite ordinaryin the last few monthsaftermanybowlers wereruled of action because of various injuries.

India suffered a scare in their last match -- the opening ODI of the tri-series, against New Zealand -- when pacer Abhimanyu Mithun bowled only four overs before he was forced to retire with heat stroke.

Fast bowler Ishant Sharma was also ruled of that match after suffering an ankle injury, depleting India's bowling resources further.

Strike bowler Zaheer Khan is already out of action because of injury, while lead spinner Harbhajan Singh was rested for the series after sustaining an injury during the Sri Lanka Test series.

India, who were thrashed by New Zealand by 200 runs, next play Sri Lanka on Monday.

India squad: 1. Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), 2. Virender Sehwag, 3. Suresh Raina, 4. Virat Kohli, 5. Dinesh Karthik, 6. Yuvraj Singh, 7. Rohit Sharma, 8. Saurabh Tiwary, 9. Ravindra Jadeja, 10. Ashish Nehra, 11. Praveen Kumar, 12. Pragyan Ojha, 13. R Ashwin, 14. Abhimanyu Mithun, 15. Ishant Sharma, 16. Munaf Patel.
