Follow, discuss the India-South Africa second Test in Kolkata

February 14, 2010 08:58 IST

Their number one ranking under threat, India cannot settle for anything less than a win as they go into the second and final Test against South Africa at the Eden gardens today.

With both the series and their Test ranking at stake, the hosts have been bolstered by the return of VVS Laxman, who is all set to make a comeback to his happy-hunting ground, where he scored a 281 in the second innings to script an epochal turn-around in their Test against Australia in March 2001.

The tourists received a shot in the arm with the news that their captain Graeme Smith is fit after suffering a finger injury during practice on Friday.

Having crushed India by an innings and six runs in the first Test in Nagpur, South Africa lead the two-match series 1-0 and just need a draw the Test to snatch the top spot in the ICC rankings from the hosts.

Let's see what's in story over the next five days. Can India bounce back and square the series? India Abroad's Harish Kotian is at the ground posting updates as they happen. Follow what's the latest from the Test on Harish's MyPage!
