Former Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail has called for an early resumption of cricketing ties with India to repair the damaged relations between the two countries after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
In a column in the News, Sohail wrote that a Pakistan and India cricketing contest always brought out the best in players of both sides.
"Let's get Pakistan-India games back as these are not cricket matches, it is war. However, the beauty of this war is that it brings both nations together, builds bridges and makes friends," Sohail said.
The former opener said it was unfortunate that recent political issues had curtailed Indo-Pak cricket matches.
Since the Mumbai attacks, the bilateral cricketing relations between India and Pakistan were suspended although both teams played in South Africa in the Champions Trophy last year.
