Incredible collapses in Test cricket

February 15, 2010 15:40 IST

Cricket is a game of great uncertainties. South Africa learnt this fact the hard way at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.

They were comfortably placed at 251 for 3 at one stage, but lost wickets in a heap and soon reduced to 261 for 9. They could add just ten runs, while losing six wickets, in 67 balls!

This is the second worst six-wicket collapse against India in a home Test.

Interestingly the only better performance also came from South Africa, when they crumbled from 96 for four and were all out for 105, at Ahmedabad in 1996-97.
