England pick South African-born Kieswetter for ODIs

February 21, 2010 09:08 IST

Somerset wicketkeeper-batsman Craig Kieswetter has been added to England's one-day squad for this month's tour to Bangladesh.

The South African-born player completed his four-year qualification process earlier this week, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on its website (www.ecb.co.uk) on Saturday.

Kieswetter, 22, caught the eye of the selectors by hitting 81 in the England Lions' Twenty20 victory over the senior England team in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

He will become the 16th member of the senior squad for three one-day matches against Bangladesh.

England leave Dubai for Dhaka on Sunday.

Abdul Razzaq hammered five sixes in a swashbuckling 18-ball innings of 46 not out on Saturday to lead Pakistan to a four-wicket win over England in the second and final match in the Twenty20 series.
