Nagpur to host first Test against South Africa

The first match of the two-Test series between India and South Africa will be played at Nagpur's VCA stadium in Jamtha from February 6 to 10, while the second will be at Eden Gardens in Kolkata from the 14th to 18th.

The Proteas are scheduled to arrive in Mumbai on January 31 and proceed to Nagpur the next day, according to sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

The ODIs are scheduled at Jaipur, Kanpur and Ahmedabad, but because of logistical reasons the venue-wise scheduling is yet to be finalised, the sources said, adding the matches will be held on January 21, 24 and 27.

The detailed schedule will be announced next wqeek.

The schedule:

Jan 31: South Africa arrive in Mumbai

Feb 1: Travel to Nagpur

Feb 2-3: Two-day practice game at Nagpur

Feb 6-10: 1st Test, Nagpur

Feb 11: Travel to Kolkata

Feb 14-18: 2nd Test in Kolkata

Feb 21, 24, 27: ODIs (venues Jaipur, Kanpur and Ahmedabad).
