Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) assistant coach Vijay Dahiya said the presence of Wasim Akram as the specialist bowling coach will act as a big boost for the players of the Indian Premier League side.

Speaking to media at the Eden Gardens, the former India wicket-keeper said, "The vast experience and advice of a legend like Akram would be of immense help for all the team members."

When quizzed on the team's wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha, Dahiya said, "I have spoken to him. He is one of the best wicket-keepers in the country at the moment. But along with the job of a stumper he would have to excel with the bat if he wants to be part of the national squad."

Stating that he was extremely happy to be part of KKR team management, Dahiya said, "It's a terrific feeling to be part of a team where players from different regions of the country as well as from abroad have assembled."

The assistant coach said KKR was planning to set up a development squad to keep ready "a good reserve bench."

"This would consist of players who have not participated in the ongoing camp," he said.
