India defeated Bangladesh by 113 runs to clinch the first Test and take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series in Chittagong on Thursday.
The Indians, who needed to pick eight wickets on the last day, took just about two sessions to wrap the game.
Resuming on 67 for 2, Bangladesh were in for an early shock as India struck in the fourth over. Ishant removed key batsman Mohammad Ashraful (27) after Rahul Dravid took a fine catch, his 190th in Tests, at second slip.
Bangladesh were soon down to 94 for four after Ishant against struck, in his sixth over, trapping Raqibul Hossain leg before wicket.
Tamim Iqbal struck a valiant 50 and belted Sreesanth, who replaced Zaheer, at will.
Sehwag introduced himself in place of Sreesanth and immediately removed Tamim to reduce Bangladesh to 135 for five.
Overnight batsman Tamim went for an unnecessary slash off a Sehwag delivery, which shaped away after pitching on the off, and the thick edge went straight to Dravid's safe hands at slip.
Tamim, who resumed the day on 23, faced 122 balls and hit six boundaries in his 52.
Bangladesh's wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim delayed the inevitable by slamming his maiden Test century.
However, he couldn't go on for long and Bangladesh were skittled out after Amit Mishra (4 for 92), Ishant Sharma (3 for 48), and Zaheer Khan (2 for 90) struck at regular intervals.
The baby-faced Rahim threw his bat at everything hurled at him. The diminutive stumper-batsman took 112 balls to hit his maiden Test ton -- also the fastest by a Bangladeshi batsman -- and was the last man out.
Sachin Tendulkar, who scored his 44th Test ton on Tuesday, was declared man-of-the-match.
His first innings century was crucial in India's victory march.
In the process, he also crossed the 13,000-run mark and was presented a momento for the same.
