South Africans arrive for two-Test, three-ODI series

January 31, 2010 09:40 IST

South Africa's cricket team, with an interim coach in charge, arrived in Mumbai in the early hours of Sunday for a two-match Test series against India.

The Graeme Smith-led squad, which arrived at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at around 1220 IST, will proceed to Nagpur later in the day.

The visitors commence their short tour with a two-day warm-up game against the Board President's XI, led by Mumbai middle order batsman Rohit Sharma, on February 2.

This will be followed by two Tests -- Nagpur (Feb 6-10) and Kolkata (Feb 14-18) and three one-dayers in Jaipur (Feb 21), Kanpur (Feb 24) and Ahmedabad (Feb 27).

The Proteas are touring following controversies over the resignation of coach Mickey Arthur and sacking of their selection panel, headed by Mike Procter.

Former South Africa fast bowler Corrie van Zyl has taken over as interim coach.

Squad: Graeme Smith (capt), Hashim Amla, Johan Botha, Mark Boucher (wicketkeeper), AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Paul Harris, Jacques Kallis, Ryan McLaren, Morne Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Alviro Petersen, Ashwell Prince, Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe.

Coach: Corrie van Zyl.
