Bedi asks youngsters to focus on fitness, rhythm

Spin legend Bishen Singh Bedi on Tuesday advised young and aspiring slow bowlers to focus on rhythmic body movements and fitness to excel at the game.

During his interaction with youngsters here, Bedi emphasised the necessity to have perfect rhythm in body movements in order to achieve the desired results.

Bedi, on a courtesy visit to the Mumbai Cricket Association's Academy at the Bandra-Kurla Complex, also showed his acumen in the art of spin bowling and shared his thoughts about the various facets of the game.

The former India skipper also advised players to focus on physical fitness which, he said, was much needed tool to play the game for long at the competitive level, a release from the Academy said.

Appreciating the superb facilities being provided by the MCA, Bedi also advised the players to utilise their association with cricket to be a good human being, it said.

The academy's director and former India wicketkeeper Chandrakant Pandit told the young aspirants that they were extremely fortunate to get the opportunity to interact with one of the all-time greats of spin bowling, the release added.
