Malinga included in Sri Lanka Test squad

Sri Lanka fast bowler Lasith Malinga has been included in the 16-member squad for the three-Test series against India, starting at Galle on July 18.

Malinga made his last Test appearance in December 2007 against England.

The 26-year-old was out of action for nine months with a knee injury. He returned to international cricket in February 2009, playing limited-over and Twenty20 Internationals.

Off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, who is due to retire from Test cricket after the Galle match, is also in the squad along with 25-year-old Suraj Randiv who is likely to his place for the rest of the series.

Squad: Kumar Sangakkara (captain), Muttiah Muralitharan, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Tharanga Paranavitana, Mahela Jayawardene, Thilan Samaraweera, Angelo Mathews, Prasanna Jayawardene, Lasith Malinga, Rangana Herath, Dilhara Fernando, Dhammika Prasad, Suraj Randiv, Thilina Kandamby, Chanaka Welagedara, Lahiru Thirimanne.
