The former India [ Images ] captain emulated Australia's [ Images ] Ricky Ponting [ Images ] (who had a tally of 9447 before the start of second Test against Pakistan).
In the first Test against Sri Lanka [ Images ] in Galle, Dravid could manage only 18 runs in the first innings while he fell for a fighting 44 in the second.
