Giving in to Lalit Modi's demand, BCCI president Shashank Manohar has withdrawn himself from the three-man disciplinary committee constituted to conduct a hearing against the suspended IPL commissioner, according to BCCI sources.

The Board's Special General Meeting to be convened in Mumbai on July 3 to discuss Modi's replies to the three show cause notices issued to him would choose a new member to replace Manohar in the disciplinary proceedings, it was learnt.

The other two members of the committee are Arun Jaitley and Chirayu Amin, both vice-presidents of the Board. Amin is also the interim chairman of the IPL.

Modi's legal counsel Mehmood Abdi had hit out at the complete silence from both Manohar and BCCI secretary N Srinivasan over the suspended IPL chief's demand that both these Board bigwigs recuse themselves from future disciplinary proceedings against him.

"In the interest of justice and fairplay it is incumbent upon Srinivasan to totally exclude himself. The BCCI President (Manohar) may consider recusing himself from all proceedings involving Mr Modi in present and future," Abdi had said on June 16.
