Sachin Tendulkar is the latest Indian celebrity to catch the Twitter fever.

The former India captain, known to be a private person, has surprisingly joined the bandwagon and keyed his most private thoughts on the micro-blogging website.

His handle on the microblogging service is @sachin_rt.

On his page, Tendulkar writes about the recovery of his injured hand.

"Got stitches removed and the doctor feels it will some more time to recover . Will keep you posted on this."

Tendulkar had split the webbing in his right hand while attempting a catch during the IPL semi-final against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, last month. He played in the final despite the injury, but the Mumbai Indians fell short against an inspired Chennai Super Kings led by Mahindra Singh Dhoni.

Tendulkar also took a moment to congratulate Sehwag on the birth of his new born baby boy.

With 27,000 followers already on his Twitter page, this is one way for Tendulkar's fans to keep in touch with the Little Master.

With quite a few fake Sachin profiles on Twitter, Sachin's presence was confirmed by photographer Atul Kasbekar (@atulkasbekar) in a tweet.

"Ladies n Gentlemen it is my proud privilege to introduce Finally to Twitter, SACHIN TENDULKAR, @sachin_rt, follow the King now, go go go !!!" posted Atul.
