Statistical Highlights from the seventeenth match of the ICC World Twenty20 between New Zealand and Pakistan in Bridgetown, Barbados, on Saturday.
# Daniel Vettori was leading New Zealand for the 25th time in a Twenty20 international. He became first player to captain his country in 25 T20s.
# The dismissal of Ross Taylor (off Mohammad Sami) was the 16th for Kamran Akmal in the World Cup. He now holds the record of most dismissals by a wicketkeeper in the World Cup, surpassing South Africa's Mark Boucher's tally of 15 dismissals.
# Vettori was run-out for the sixth time in 17 T20 innings - most such dismissals by any batsman in this format. Interestingly five of them have come in the World Cup!
# Shahid Afridi - with two wickets in this match - took his wicket-tally to 26 in the World Cup, thus equalling team-mate Umar Gul's record of most wickets in the World Cup. Incidentally Gul and Afridi are the two most successful bowlers in Twenty20 internationals also with 43 and 40 wickets respectively.
# Salman Butt (67 not out) became the fifth Pakistani batsman to aggregate 500 runs in Twenty20 internationals when his score reached 51. Others Pakistanis to reach the landmark include: Shoaib Malik (603), Misbah-ul-Haq (574), Kamran Akmal (544) and Shahid Afridi (528).
# Butt's 45-ball fifty is the second slowest for Pakistan. Only Kamran Akmal has scored a slower fifty when he took 46 balls to reach the mark against Ireland at the Oval on June 15, 2009.
# Butt also became the first Pakistan opener to bat through the full 20 overs. He is the third batsman to accomplish this feat in the World Cup after Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne (96 not out vs West Indies at the Oval on June 19, 2009) and Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardene (98 not out vs West Indies at Bridgetown on May 7, 2010).
# Ian Butler became fourth New Zealander to bowl a maiden in the World Cup after Mark Gillespie, Chris Martin and Shane Bond.
# Butler's figures of 3 for 19 are the best by a Kiwi bowler against Pakistan, beating Tim Southee's 3 for 28 in Dubai on November 12, 2009.
# New Zealand's win is the second one-run win in the World Cup. They were on the receiving end on the earlier occasion - losing to South Africa at Lord's on June 9, 2009.
# The victory was New Zealand's first against Pakistan in Twenty20 internationals in five attempts.
# With this loss, Pakistan have now lost three matches in a row.
# Butler won his second Man of the Match award.
