# Pakistan managed only 19 runs in the first six overs – the lowest Power Play score in the tournament's history. Australia had managed 22 for three against Zimbabwe at Cape Town in the inaugural World Twenty20 Championship, which was the previous lowest first six-over total in ICC World Twenty20.

# Umar Akmal's 51 (off 33 balls) is the highest score by a Pakistan batsman against South Africa. Shahid Afridi had also made 51 (off 34 balls) at Nottingham on 18-06-2009.

# Akmal's four sixes are the maximum hit by a Pakistan batsman in a match against South Africa. Naved-ul-Hasan and Kamran Akmal shared the previous record with two sixes.

# Roelof van der Merwe by conceding 33 runs in his two overs (RpO 16.50) recorded the worst economy-rate by a South African bowler bowling at least two overs in a T20I match.

# Roelof van der Merwe also conceded four sixes off his bowling. He now shares the dubious distinction of conceding most sixes by a South African bowler in a Twenty20 international along with Shaun Pollock (v West Indies at Johannesburg on 11-09-2007 and Rory Kleinveldt (v India at Gros Islet on 02-05-2010).

# Charles Langeveldt (4-19) became the fourth South African to claim four wickets in a T20I match after Morne Morkel (twice), Dale Steyn and Wayne Parnell.

# Langeveldt's figures are the best by any bowler against Pakistan – at par with Sri Lanka's Kaushalya Weeraratne at King City on 11-10-2008.

# Graeme Smith completed his 2,000 runs in Twenty20 matches when his score reached 4. He was playing his 69th match and innings. Smith became first South African and sixth batsman in Twenty20 history to aggregate 2,000 runs after Brad Hodge (2646), David Hussey (2546), Brendon McCullum (2443), Kumar Sangakkara (2054), Ross Taylor (2004) and Mahela Jayawardene (2018).

# AB de Villiers' 53 was his fourth fifty in Twenty20 internationals, equalling Graeme Smith's South African record of most fifties in a T20I career.

# De Villiers also completed his 500 runs in Twenty20 internationals, becoming second batsman after Graeme Smith (751) to do this.

# Kamran Akmal's stumping of Johan Botha was his 22nd stumping in 33 T20I games – first against South Africa. He has now effected at least one stumping against 11 different countries. India and Scotland are the only countries against which he is yet to make a stumping.

# Kamran has now effected 10 dismissals off the bowling of Saeed Ajmal – 9 of them have been stumped!

# Saeed Ajmal (4-26) claimed four wickets for the second time in his Twenty20 international career. He had also taken 4 for 19 against Ireland at the Oval on 15-06-2009. He is the third Pakistan bowler after Umar Gul (4) and Shahid Afridi (2) to claim four wickets more than once.

# Ajmal's figures are the best for Pakistan against South Africa obliterating Shahid Afridi's 2 for 16 at Nottingham on 18-06-2009.

# Ajmal is also the third bowler to take four wickets in a match against South Africa after India's RP Singh (4-13 at Durban on 20-09-2007) and Bangladesh's Abdur Razzak (4-16 at Johannesburg on 05-11-2008).

# Umar Akmal won his second Man-of-the-Match award.
