May 18, 2010 21:19 IST

P T Keshav, the CEO of Rendezvous Sports World (RSW) consortium that bid successfully for the Kochi Indian Premier League franchise for $333.33 million, had an "operational" meeting with IPL CEO Sundar Raman and sports management group IMG in Mumbai on Tuesday.

"It was a normal operational meeting which will go on for a couple of weeks, months. It was regarding building our team," Keshav said after the meeting which lasted for nearly two hours.

"I met Sundar Raman and the IMG (International Management Group) guys," said the Dubai-based Keshav who represents Rosy Blue, a major diamond maker, in the consortium.

Keshav denied the meeting had anything to do with the controversies over the bidding of the franchise that led to former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor quitting his post and also brought the entire IPL under the government scanner.

"It was not a part of the agenda," he said.

Business entities in the RSW consortium include - Anchor Earth, a part of Anchor group of companies, Film Waves, a company promoted by Harshad Mehta of Global Rosy Blue Group, real estate group Parinee Developers, Vivek Venugopal, part of the Elite and Cholayil group of companies, and Anand Shyam Real estate, which is part of the USD Sur Gems group of companies.
