Former India captain Sourav Ganguly today said the incident involving Pakistan wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider should be an eye opener to the young cricketers.

"Zulqarnain incident is an eye opener. I have played top level cricket for 14-15 years but never faced such a situation. I shudder to think that someone picks up a phone and gives a threat," Ganguly told reporters here on the eve of the Mohammedan Sporting Platinum Jubilee Cup.

The former left-handed batsman, however said that he did not agree with Haider's reaction and his decision to take political asylum in England.

"He should have played on," said Ganguly, adding, "It is a lesson for the young cricketers and they should be very careful about betting."
