Like Dalmiya, Modi too will return: Bindra

Lalit Modi continues to find support from unexpected quarters. IS Bindra became the latest voice to have kind words for the former IPL commissioner.

"Nobody is marginalized in cricket, or for that matter in politics on a permanent basis," said Bindra, a former BCCI president and at present the chief of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), when asked if the BCCI AGM had on Wednesday completed sidelined Modi while revamping the IPL governing council.

"I have never believed than anyone can be marginalized forever. Everyone is bound to make a comeback," explained Bindra, before going on to give a very pertinent example.

That of former ICC president Jagmohan Damiya.

"Mr Dalmiya was said to be marginalized a few years back," said Bindra, adding, "Now he has made a comeback."

His reference was palpably to the withdrawal off all charges against Dalmiya during the AGM.

BCCI treasurer and PCA secretary MP Pandove concurred.

"Modi remains one of the vice presidents of PCA," he said, adding, "We have no charges against him whatsoever."

Pandove went on to defend PCA's stand further.

"The board is still in the process of conducting an enquiry and no decision has been taken as yet," he explained.
