Keeping its reputation of being India's richest sporting body intact, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has paid taxes to the tune of Rs 250 crore for the last financial year, association vice-president Rajiv Shukla said on Saturday.

"The BCCI has paid taxes amounting to Rs 250 crore. BCCI is the only sporting organisation that has paid such a huge amount of tax," Shukla told the mediapersons after his meeting with the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) officials.

Shukla, who also heads the UPCA, also informed that a state-of-the-art stadium that is coming up in Greater Noida will be hosting IPL matches in near future.

"We will built good stadiums for aspirants at the grassroot level also. We want to increase the number of tournaments at the district level to improve the standard of competition in the state," Shukla said.
