England's Stuart Broad inflicted seven ducks on batsmen in Test matches -- most by any bowler in 2011.

Misbah, de Villiers missed ton by a run


Two batsmen were dismissed for 99 in Test cricket in 2011 -- Pakistan's Misbah-ul-Haq (v New Zealand at Wellington) and South Africa's AB de Villiers (v Sri Lanka at Centurion).

Ashwin, Hasan achieved rare feat


Two players -- India's R Ashwin and Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan -- achieved the distinction of scoring a hundred and capturing a five-wicket haul in the same Test in 2011.

England, Pak won most Tests


Pakistan and England recorded most Test wins in 2011 -- 6 each. England remained the only team not to lose any Test.

India suffered most Test defeats in 2011 -- 5.

Bangladesh remained the only team not to win a Test.

 


England posted highest Test score, Aus lowest


England recorded the highest Test score in 2011 -- 710 for seven declared, against India at Birmingham.

Australia recorded the lowest -- 47, against South Africa at Cape Town.

Seven batsmen scored double centuries in Test cricket in 2011 -- England's Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Alastair Cook and Ian Bell; Pakistan's Taufeeq Umar and Younis Khan; and Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara.

Cook hit highest Test score


England's Alastair Cook's 294 against India at Birmingham remained the highest Test score by any batsman in 2011.
