Women have matched men in almost all fields of work and here we have another young lady making her folk proud.

Cricketer Chloe Wallwork has become the first woman to play alongside men in 125 years in Lancashire's oldest league, the Bolton Association.

According to The Daily Express, Chloe expressed that she did not even know she was the first to achieve the feat until she was told about it.

Chloe has played in Walshaw's second team for four years and her outstanding performances as a bowler earned her a step up last weekend, the report said.

She took four wickets in 11 overs in her maiden first-team appearance against rival club Golborne, the report added.

Growing up she was always the only girl to play cricket while others were talking about boys. Chloe first picked up a bat and ball aged five, playing in the street with her brother Ryan, now 24 and she has since been on tour twice to South Africa with the women's Lancashire county team, for which she was talent- scouted.

The cricketer said that when she was out bowling, the batsmen either tried to slog her or block because they did not want to get out to a girl.

Walshaw chairman David Leach said that Chloe was a great girl and always gave the lads a tough time on the pitch.
