Retiring South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis was given a guard of honour by the Indian players as he walked out to bat in the second and final Test at Kingsmead in Durban.

Kallis, who will retire from Test cricket after this game, walked out to bat to a rousing welcome from the Durban crowd at the fall of the second South African wicket.

Indian players, led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, gave modern cricket's greatest all rounder a warm welcome to the crease.

On-field umpires Steve Davis and Rod Tucker too joined the players in saluting Kallis' achievement in the game.

On the eve of the match, Kallis had announced retirement from his illustrious Test career in which he has scored 13,174 runs in 165 games.

Kallis is second behind recently-retired Indian icon Sachin Tendulkar in terms of most Test centuries with 44 scores of over hundred.

The 38-year-old also has 292 wickets against his name.
