Michael Angelow, the man who made cricket history when he became Britain's first sporting streaker by running through Lords is planning a shock return to the ground but has turned down The Duckworth Lewis Method request for a repeat performance.

According to The Independent, Angelow is a 62-year old grandfather now and has lived a life of fully-clothed anonymity for 38 years, living life as a Merchant Navy cook.

StreakerThe report said that on 4 August 1975, the fourth day's play of the Ashes Test in Lords was disrupted when Merchant Navy cook Michael Angelow shed his clothes and made a dash across the playing area, vaulting the bails, and raising his fist in triumph at the Nursery End, before being led away by police.

Angelow said that he just could not believe all the fuss at the time and he supposed he was at the HQ of cricket in front of all the old boys in their blazers and ties.

The streaker was fined £20 for his beer-fuelled streak but he won the same sum in the bet, which prompted his spontaneous race across the hallowed turf, the report added.
