Virender Sehwag's axing from the Indian squad for the third and fourth Test would make Australia "happy" and the struggling opener, according to Matthew Hayden, could have broken his run of poor scores with a "triple ton" in Mohali.

"Personally, I think the Aussies would be happy. Sehwag is unpredictable perfect! Next Test could have been 300!" Hayden wrote on his Twitter page.

Sehwag was today dropped from the squad for the remainder of the Test series against Australia, paying the price for a prolonged run drought.

Sehwag has scored just 27 runs in his three innings during the ongoing series. But the former Aussie opener felt sorry for Sehwag after hearing the news about his axing.

"Very sorry to hear that Virender Sehwag has been dropped for next Test. He is my top 4 entertaining batsman to watch of all time," he further tweeted.

Hayden said Sehwag is a player of that ilk for whom 'form is temporary, class is permanent'.

"He may be out of form, but as they say 'form is temporary, class is permanent' and I believe Sehwag is in that list. I will be very surprised if Sehwag does not work his way back into the side. Sehwag is one of those players I would love to pay to see him playing," he added.

Sehwag, on his part, has vowed to make a comeback. "Will continue to work hard for my place in the team. I trust my game and am confident that 'I'll be back'," the Delhi batsman wrote on his twitter page.

He also wished luck to the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side for the remainder of the series, which the hosts are leading 2-0 after crushing wins in Chennai and Hyderabad.

"Best wishes to the team," he wrote.
