Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq was fined 15 per cent of his match fee showing dissent to the umpire after his dismissal in the second one-dayer against New Zealand in Sharjah.

"Adam Milne of New Zealand and Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq have been found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct in unrelated incidents during the second One-Day International in Sharjah on Friday," the ICC said in a statement.

Misbah was fined for a level 1 Article 2.1.3 offence, which relates to "Showing dissent at an Umpire's decision during an International Match."

The incident happened in the 37th over when Misbah expressed his displeasure after TV Umpire Joel Wilson held on-field umpire Richard Illingworth's decision to give him caught behind off Matt Henry.

Milne received an official reprimand for violating Level 1 Article 2.1.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International match."

The right-arm fast bowler, after dismissing Shahid Afridi in the 41st over, was clearly observed using an inappropriate word.

After the match, both players admitted the offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by Roshan Mahanama of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees. As such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

The charges were levelled by on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Richard Illingworth, TV Umpire Joel Wilson and fourth official Sohzab Raza.

All Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player's match fee.

Meanwhile, leg-spinner Yasir Shah has been called into the Pakistan squad for the rest of the one-day series against New Zealand in the United Arab Emirates to replace injured pace bowlers Umar Gul and Bilawal Bhatti.

Shah was added to the squad after Gul and Bilawal were sent home with tendon and hand problems respectively. Young all-rounder Anwar Ali was also called up for the remaining three games in the series.

The fitness of captain Misbah-ul-Haq is also a concern for Pakistan after he suffered a hamstring problem during their loss in the second match on Friday.

Shahid Afridi will lead the team if Misbah is ruled out.

The third ODI is due to be played on Sunday with the series level at 1-1.
